Earth Day 2024 is here! Today, you are likely to read how many companies across the state, country, and globe are celebrating and observing this event. But the fact is, every day is Earth Day at The Veransa Group—sustainability and a commitment to the health of our environment are the reasons we exist.
To explain just how committed we are to our planet, here is a quick recap of our mission:
- To apply the principles of highest value use, vertical integration, and circular economy on an industrial scale
- To demonstrate an innovative model for wood and yard waste recycling
- To aggregate and transform urban wood and yard waste into valuable commodities, including compost, soils, mulch, and energy feedstock
- To perfect the green loop of wood and yard waste recycling
- To invest in state-of-the-art technology that will drive consistent high-quality products and lower carbon footprint
- To establish a global brand associated with high-quality and sustainable compost, soils, and energy products
On of the most important ways we are dedicated to the environment is our desire to build a team of professionals that transform the by providing a model that can be replicated throughout the United States and around the world.

How Does Organic Compost, Mulch, and Soil Support the Environment?
On Earth Day and all year long, Veransa operates 5 area locations for the drop off of green, wood, and yard waste. We are also partnered with many towns and municipalities to clear debris after storms and perform residential yard waste removal. Why does this matter?
Yard waste that is disposed of in landfills takes up precious space and increases toxic gas production. However, when that same yard waste is processed at one of Veransa’s facilities, it is transformed into organic compost, mulch, or soil.
The proper treatment of wood and green waste helps to protect the environment, but the products that are subsequently manufactured continue to have a positive effect. When you utilize organic products for your landscaping projects or agricultural efforts, you allow local soil to be replenished of valuable nutrients that it has lost due to over-farming or chemical treatments. When you heal the soil, everything in that soil can thrive.
Organic compost and mulch help to reduce and suppress the growth of weeds without chemicals, which is an obvious further benefit. Organic products work to conserve soil moisture (which reduces water consumption), enhance soil fertility, and prevent erosion. When eco-mulch is used for playgrounds, children are safer, and the environment is not subjected to more toxic materials. It only makes sense that by returning what began in the earth to the earth, the environment will thrive.
