There are many reasons that homeowners and small local businesses may have yard waste. Whether transforming the look of the yard, cleaning away brush and tree branches to build a new swimming pool, or cleaning up debris after a storm, yard waste can pile up along the edges of your property. How can you as an individual dispose of this yard waste in a sustainable and eco-friendly way – without clogging up the landfills? The answer lies in bringing your yard waste to local intake centers that can efficiently recycle these items.

No one is better than nature herself at transforming green waste into nutritious and fertile soil. Therefore, we strive to mirror this effective and efficient natural process by using innovative composting methods that produce high-quality compost and soil amendments for farmers, landscapers, and homeowners.

Municipalities Rely on Our Services

Before we discuss the services available to homeowners, we’d like to explain how we collaborate with the community to collect and dispose of yard waste debris, especially after a storm.

Veransa® is registered with the State of Florida and the United States Department of the Interior. Our company is proud to play a pivotal and essential role in storm debris management and environmental restoration for our communities. After significant weather events – most notably hurricanes – our efforts are instrumental in helping Florida to return to normal as quickly as possible. Veransa owns and manages five intake yards strategically located along the Gulf Coast (Sarasota, Tampa, Pinellas, Seffner, and Fort Myers). The flagship center in Seffner is equipped with high-volume, electrically powered processing equipment that can manage the aftermath of any storm, no matter the size and impact.

The Storm Debris Intake, Processing, and Recycling Service provides much more than simple cleanup. It represents a corporate commitment to the resilience and renewal of the places we call home. We carefully process storm debris, transforming reminders of the overwhelming destruction into valuable resources beneficial to the community as a whole. We do not only clean up debris – we do our part to create a more sustainable environment going forward.

Veransa® has developed a vertically integrated approach. Every ton of green and wood waste that we intake at one of our five recycling facilities is promptly sent over to our manufacturing hubs in Seffner and Fort Myers, FL, ensuring that there is always more space opening up at our satellite locations. Green waste is transformed into Organic Compost® and Blended Specialty Soils at these production hubs, while wood materials are turned into diverse varieties of mulch.

Florida Homeowners and Local Small Businesses

Our company considers yard waste a valuable resource that should not be wasted. This mission to recycle and transform green, wood, and yard waste includes municipalities, homeowners, landscapers, and property owners. Our intake centers can accept these items from individuals looking to do their part and quickly dispose of their yard waste. These are the materials we can accept:

  • Clean Yard Waste: Leaves, branches, and plant trimmings
  • Hardwood and Softwood: All types of wood waste
  • Grass & Yard Clippings: Grass cuttings and other soft plant waste
  • Palms, Stumps, and Wood Chips: Bulkier green waste materials

We accept all of these green waste materials at our five strategically located facilities listed above. Our goal is to take in your yard waste and ensure it is not squandered—instead, these materials will be returned to the soil via products that encourage growth and enrich soil health. Consumers can then purchase soil amendments, mulch (including high-quality playground mulch), and compost that reinvest in Florida’s environmental sustainability.
